Formally the Hull Childminding Network, we provide support, training and development for registered and prospective childminders.
The Network aims to ensure that a high quality service is provided by all Network childminders, ensuring the children receive high quality childcare provision. Within this provision we try to deliver as much training around all subjects as possible. We also provide support to parents and encourage them to take part in their child's learning. Childminders provide full day care/education, a before and after school service and school holiday provision. The lack of affordable childcare is often seen as a barrier to parents who are seeking training, education or employment opportunities.
Childminders provide a cost effective service to enable parents to take up these opportunities. For many parents local childminding is essential, because of time and financial constraints.
For children, care in their local community amongst their peers provides a stable environment during their formative years.
Office hours 8.30am – 5.00pm Monday - Friday
Child Care Matters (Humber) currently employ co-ordinators who:
• Monitor and support the childminder during their childcare work through regular visits to their homes.
• Arrange meetings, training and social events for childminders on the scheme
• Provide and maintain toy libraries and equipment loan schemes for use by childminders
• Advise parents on childcare available in their area
• Assist parents to find childcare suitable to their needs
• Encourage childminders to work together for the good of themselves, children and parents
Childminders are registered by Ofsted and are issued with a Certificate of Registration renewable annually, and have public liability insurance.
Both the Certificate of Registration and the insurance certificate are available for parents to see. If these documents are not available it may be that the person is operating illegally.
Childminders belonging to the Network are all registered with Ofsted and are also members of the National Childminding Association.
Childminders who are part of the National Childminders Approved Network and accredited can provide free early education sessions to 3 and 4 year olds.
Child Care Matters aims to ensure that a high quality childminding service is provided and that childminders are given real skills and professional qualifications.
